The Noise is a Soul Survivor initiative to get out into the community and show God's love to people in an obvious and practical way. Hope 08 is an initiative to share the message of God's hope through word and action. So, what better idea than to combine the two!

Some Christians from a few churches in Southampton have already expressed an interest in doing a Noise weekend next year, teaming up where possible.Read more

I met a guy who works with the Young Offernders Team (YOT) in Hampshire (which in this governmental sense means Southampton too) today. He contacted me as he has some ideas to help churches to work well with the YOT to serve young people and the communities they are part of.

As a starting point, he wants to arrange a meeting between church leaders and the YOT management team. The YOT management would suggest ways they think the churches could help. This would allow the church leaders to respond to these opportunities where possible.Read more

On 27th June, I will be going to meet with the Southampton Christian Network executive group. I think these are the people who decide what the network does. This is a great opportunity to go and talk with them about what they see Hope 08 being like in Southampton and how we can best use this opportunity.Read more

The Southampton Christian Network (SCN) is a network of mainly evangelical churches in Southampton. Once a month there is a lunch for leaders of church congregations and organisations. Today they had a discussion on Hope 08. It seemed to go really well and they seemed excited about the possibilities. We offered to speak to leaders individually about Hope and to come and do our presentation that we did at St John's Rownhams last week. It's exciting to see this opportunity building up.

We went up to St John's Rownhams on Thursday last week (26th April) and presented to their AGM on what Hope 08 is and what it might look like in Southampton. This is something we have been trying to work out for the last few months. We told them what we know so far, and infact the whole process was very helpful for us working out how to convey our thoughts.Read more
