We are taking a group of lads from Bellemoor school who come to our Wednesday afternoon youth club on a trip this Wednesday to have a BBQ and some games in the forrest. This is the first time we have done this with this group, so it would be excellent if it goes well. Please pray for good weather, good behaviour and fun for the boys, that they would remember to come and that we all get to know each other better through it.

It seems to be the fashion when preaching about prayer to announce that we are not to pray by bringing a shopping list of requests to God. For some time I have been bemused by this as it seemed to me that Jesus often tells his disciples to ask their father in heaven and he will give them good things (e.g. Luke 11:1-13). We are planning a trip to the New Forest after half term with the lads from the youth club we run with St James Church in Shirley. Basically a lot of running around the forest with the loose excuse of a "wide game" with a BBQ once we get too tired. It should be a great opportunity to get to know each other better and build a group spirit. We have started giving the forms out so please pray that they come back in and that all the boys want to come.
