Unite Southampton

Over the summer a few of the local church youthworkers met to adapt SAFE's Choices course for use with youth. It was great spending time with those guys - we know each other so well. From eating lunch, hanging out, going places, we've built up brilliant friendships and that's where I see unity between Christians from different backgrounds. When we come to do a project together, we know each other and understand where we're coming from. I think friendships generally (probably not always) need to come first for unity to work, but that's a topic for another conversation.Read more

We're meeting a local PCSO on Monday (in Freemantle) who wants to bring The Big Red Bus down and start a StreetLight team in the area. Chris and I have been musing on getting out and meeting the young people that hang around and have been on a quest to find others who share that vision. So, it looks like there's 3 of us...

I love the way Jesus taught about seeds. He taught about them but he also lived the same way. He seemed happy to drop a thought into someone's head and then leave them with it. Or to act kindly towards someone and let them think about what it meant. He trusted that his Father would use the seeds.

We have stalled in our work of getting a new minibus. This is partly due to us having a baby, and partly due to us being disorganised. Please pray we will get this sorted out soon so that the new bus can start being used as soon as possible.

Streetlight has been given a grant from The Evangelization Society for £2500 for a new minibus so pray that we will be able to find an appropriate bus.Read more

The original StreetLight minibus was finally laid to rest this week after very worthy service. However, some StreetLight teams would still like a bus to use on their projects so we are on the look out. Please pray that God would provide us with one - and if you know of anything suitable, please let us know.
