What is Youthnet?

Youthnet is a network of Christian youth leaders in Southampton. The best thing about it is meeting up with people who are trying to do the same kind of things as you are. We wrote down some aims which sound good (equipping, encouraging and informing Southampton's Christian Youth Leaders) but actually, that is what happens for me when I go. We're getting to know each other around the city (and are always ready to welcome more people) which not only helps us be 'one church' in the city but also helps us to see things from a different point of view. Sometimes we discuss an issue that one or more of us wants help with, sometimes we just chat. Usually we laugh a lot, and almost always we pray. Plus, if you bring a packed lunch you get to eat (the host - we move around different youth work bases/ churches each month - even provides drinks and biscuits). We meet on Friday lunchtimes, so it's mostly people who work part-time or who are employed in youthwork that come along. Occasionally we've organised an evening for anyone involved in youthwork to meet up and be encouraged which opens the net a little wider.
