I met a guy who works with the Young Offernders Team (YOT) in Hampshire (which in this governmental sense means Southampton too) today. He contacted me as he has some ideas to help churches to work well with the YOT to serve young people and the communities they are part of.

As a starting point, he wants to arrange a meeting between church leaders and the YOT management team. The YOT management would suggest ways they think the churches could help. This would allow the church leaders to respond to these opportunities where possible.

This is an exciting move and it might prove that for a few churches it is the first time they have been able to effectively engage and partner with a statutory body.
